Welcome to the Friedt Herefords website. 2009 has been quite a year. we experienced the longest and coldest winter in recent memory with more snow then we've seen in years. Our last snow was June 6th, 2009!
After the drought of 2008, this year turned out to be completely different. It was cool and wet and led us into one of the best pasture, crop, and hay years ever.
The cows came through the winter in great shape and have raised some outstanding calves.
We've added some pictures of more cows and calves and will continue to update prior to sale time as our offering of bull calves is impressive.Mission Statement
Friedt Herefords started with the purchase of yearling heifers in 1977 when Gary was a junior in High School. Several purchases were made at horned Hereford dispersal sales to strengthen our genetics. We have purchased herd bulls from Oxley Hereford Ranch, Ken Baker Herefords, and Holden Herefords.We strive to raise functional and efficient cattle that will thrive in a commercial herd atmosphere. We use A.I. to improve our genetics. Performance and ultrasound data is used to reaffirm our results.
We feel we are raising the kind of cattle that add pounds, give big rib-eyes, and the marbling the feedlots are looking for. Easy calving, good milking cows are a must in our herd.
